Descendants of Sheriffs & Constables
of Colonial & Antebellum America
Welcome to our website. We are a Society whose purpose is to identify and honor individuals who accepted positions in law enforcement in Colonial and Antebellum America serving and protecting the members of their colony, town or shire. We are collecting and preserving the history of law enforcement during that period of time. We support three early jails with donations and offer a scholarship for college students preparing for a career in law enforcement.
Membership may be extended to men and women 18 years of age or older who are lineal descendants of an ancestor from any area which later became part of the United State of America. These ancestors must have held the position of law enforcement officer prior to 1861 by upholding the peace and arresting criminals.
